Poetry Slam: Writing and Performing

Tuesdays 5:15pm - 6:45pm

Now Enrolling:

Spring: March 20th - May 15th

Ages 18+

Because everyone wants to present well at poetry slams with their loud and proud spoken-word performance voices, don’t they?

Imagine being part of a Roving Band of Slam Poets, supporting and challenging each other, together, wherever we can take the mic, and who knows, maybe take home the money, too.

Bring your best stuff or start fresh, and let’s put it behind the microphone. We’ll put some performance behind it, and then take it out on the road. We will; write, present, videotape, start your own YouTube archive page, lay out your own chapbook, and then descend, in group, on poetry slams and open-mic nights to practice our new-found personas as slam poets. We’ll explore different kinds of slam poetry and create an online record of your best performances, maybe even publish your work. We will visit local slams and possibly even create gigs of our own with our collective of creative spoken-word artists. If you’ve ever considered bringing your poetry to life in public and would like a supportive group to workshop it; come roar with the Bullfrog Tribe.
