Thursdays 7:45pm - 9:15pm
Spring: March 28 - May 16 (8 weeks)
In Improv 2, students will delve further into the intricacies of improv. Each week the class will explore the components of great improvisational theater, including: bold characters, interesting choices, active listening, object work, overcoming obstacles through teamwork, and many more concepts that were introduced in Improv 1. The class will also focus on developing long-form improv skills, as well as creating rich scenes and stories during short-form games. Students will leave this class confident in their improv talents and prepared to perform at the end of the semester showcase. This class is recommended for improvisers who have previously taken the Improv 1 class or for anyone with a background in improv.
Instructor: Alex Forbes
Alex has been performing improv since she was nine years old. She took children’s acting and improv classes at Colorado College as a youngster, then explored her interest in comedy further during her time in Loveland’s Integrated School of the Arts program as a pre-teen. During her high school years she was an original member of the improv troupe at Harrington Arts Academy, which prepared her to lead the University of Wyoming’s improv team a few years later. After her time at UW Alex returned to Northern Colorado where she joined Fort Collins’s premier improv troupe, the Comedy Brewers. Alex’s passion is to share her love of improv with anyone and everyone - and La-De-Da is simply the greatest place to partake in that enthusiasm!
